Job Title: Area Clinical Director Core Responsibilities: - Participates in the interviewing, hiring, scheduling, and ongoing training of dental hygienists, assistants and doctors. - Participates in the recruiting process through support of Dental School visit, Dental Association meetings, trade meetings. - Manages and conducts in-service orientation with new affiliated doctors within the region in a timely manner. - Manages and supports care provider development including collaborating with Regional Manager to lead doctor/staff development program. - Develops and maintains a positive attitude of teamwork between all staff members. - Participates in and evaluates job performance of dental hygienists and doctors with primary responsibility for clinical issues, including participation in coaching, mentoring, providing disciplinary action, and terminations. - Manages and assists with care provider mentoring in the area. - Assists with continuing dental education needed to increase clinical skills. - Provide support for dentists to enhance their productivity and success by supporting comprehensive diagnosis, utilization of clinical protocols, and optimal patient care as measured by Production Per Hour. - Maintains high quality patient care with providers. - Oversees the periodic risk management/risk prevention audits and evaluation of charts for accuracy, legibility and completeness, including but not limited to assisting with the Incident Report System. - Ensures the quality of work provided by all doctors, specialists, hygienists, and assistants. - Responds to and manages clinical-related patient concerns and complaints. - Ensure Group’s compliance with federal and state laws and regulatory agencies' rules relating to the clinical services provided by Group. - Attend Dental Board meetings as needed to learn of new laws and regulations relating to Group’s providers. - Schedules, manages and/or conducts all clinical meetings for the area. - Actively participates with Group’s support services provider in the planning and presentation of issues during monthly staff meetings and addresses all clinical issues during the meeting. - Conducts Group doctor meetings and manages Group hygiene meetings. - Attends support service provider’s affiliated doctor's meetings making sure that the information presented is made available to any Group Doctor or Specialist unable to attend the meeting. - Participates in regional leadership meetings with Group support service provider’s Regional Manager. - Ensures that the clinical policies and procedures are current and published/distributed to the clinical staff. - Visits the various Group Practice Site offices on a set schedule to work with the doctors and professional staff to ensure Policy & Procedure adherence and patient quality care. - Works with Group’s support service provider’s Regional Manager to develop specific Group financial and operational objectives and ensures that these goals and objectives are achieved. - Provides feedback to Group’s support service provider’s Regional and Divisional Management on major problems or issues that exist or develop. - Participates in promoting and marketing Group offices and services. - Safeguards Group and support service company assets and maintains in good operating condition. - Oversees and helps achieve the Group’s mission, vision, and goals, revenue projections, expense control, staffing levels, etc. - Ensure that employees are treated with respect and work in a safe environment. Requirements - Active state dental license - DDS or DMD degree from ADA Accredited Dental School - 5 -7 years clinical experience working chairside - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - 1 – 3 years’ experience managing a team in a multi-location environment
